Prepared in 2023, this bilingual publication explores thirty topics related to international study tours, including cultural immersion, language learning, educational planning, global perspectives, sustainability, teamwork, leadership, personal growth, and intercultural understanding. It was created as a practical reference for students, educators, schools, and families seeking meaningful international learning experiences.

Over the years, IAK has continued to develop its educational practice through cultural programmes, school partnerships, community learning, and lifelong education. Looking back, this publication represents an early stage in the development of the IAK educational philosophy. While educational practice continues to evolve, one conviction has remained unchanged:

Education is not only the transmission of knowledge, but also the cultivation of understanding, character, and responsibility.

As part of the IAK Digital Archive, this publication is preserved not only as a practical educational resource, but also as a record of the continuing development of IAK's educational philosophy and educational practice.

Learning Through Travel

From ancient times to the present day, travel has been an essential part of education.

In Chinese tradition, the well-known saying "Read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles" (读万卷书，行万里路) reminds us that learning is completed not only through books, but also through direct experience of the world. Knowledge is deepened through observation, strengthened through practice, and transformed through reflection.

This understanding continues to inspire the educational philosophy of IAK Six Arts Plus, where Travel is recognised not as tourism, but as experiential learning through direct encounters with people, places, cultures, and civilizations. Together with the traditional six arts, it represents two complementary paths of learning—one through reading, the other through lived experience.

Education is therefore not confined to the classroom. Some of the most meaningful learning takes place through encountering different cultures, exploring unfamiliar places, engaging in dialogue, and reflecting on lived experience.

自古以来，旅行便是教育的重要组成部分。

中国传统所说的“读万卷书，行万里路”，正说明学习不仅来自书本，也来自真实世界的体验。知识因观察而深化，因实践而扎根，因思考而成长。

IAK Six Arts Plus 教育体系的重要基础。在这里，旅行Travel 并非单纯意义上的旅游，而是通过亲身走访不同的人、不同地方、不同文化与不同文明，开展体验式学习。它与传统六艺相互呼应，共同构成“读书”与“行路”两条相辅相成的学习路径。

因此，教育从来不仅发生在课堂之中。真正深刻的学习，往往发生在不同文明的相遇、不同文化的交流，以及真实生活中的观察、体验与思考。
