Where Roots and Horizons Meet · A Homecoming of Culture and Education

Returning to the Mountain City — Chongqing — was both a journey home and a continuation of our cultural path.

Led by the IAK Cultural Association from Switzerland, our delegation visited this vibrant city of rivers and lights, reconnecting with my alma mater, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), for a day filled with reflection, dialogue, and heartfelt connection.

重返山城重庆，既是回家的旅程，也是文化之路的延伸。

IAK瑞士亚洲文化协会代表团来到这座江水环抱、灯火辉映的城市，回访我的母校——

四川外国语大学，度过了一天充满情谊、思想与教育共鸣的美好时光。

We were warmly welcomed by the university’s leadership and faculty,

whose openness and vision reflected the city’s own spirit — inclusive, dynamic, and ever ascending.Our conversations centered on international cultural education,exploring how East and West can learn from one another in shaping future generations of open-minded global citizens.

学院领导与老师们热情接待，他们的胸怀与远见，如同重庆的山水——包容而昂扬。

双方就国际文化教育与青年培养展开深入交流，探讨东西方教育的互鉴之道，以及如何培育兼具文化根基与世界视野的新一代青年学者。

For the IAK young scholars, it was a day of living education.

From morning until dusk, our group explored six districts of Chongqing,experiencing the city’s breathtaking topography and spirited rhythm —its dialogue between mountains and rivers, its fusion of history and innovation.Every corner revealed a new face of Chongqing’s vitality,a living example of how tradition and modernity can coexist in motion.

对IAK的青年学者而言，这一天是一堂活的课堂。从清晨到黄昏，我们走访了重庆六个城区，领略山城的立体风貌与澎湃生机，感受历史底蕴与现代创造在此交融的力量。每一处风景、每一次停步，都是一场关于“城市如何与文化共生”的生动启示。

As we stood on the banks of the Yangtze River, watching the city lights shimmer against the night sky,

we felt how deeply education and culture intertwine —both rooted in place, yet reaching far beyond boundaries.The journey that began in Chengdu had now come full circle,returning not to an end, but to a renewed beginning.

傍晚伫立长江之畔，望山城灯火，心潮起伏。教育与文化的力量，正如这江水——有源有流，延绵不息。从成都的启程到青城的问道，从北京的非遗之光到重庆的教育之声，这一程，是心与文化的回环，不是终点，而是新的开始。

The IAK China Cultural Journey closes in gratitude and begins anew across the Rhine.

As the mountains of Bashu fade into memory,the spirit of learning, exchange, and creation travels onward —to Switzerland’s Rheintal Cottage,where East and West will meet again in quiet harmony.

至此，IAK中国文化之旅在感恩中告一段落，亦在心的方向重新启程。

当巴蜀群山化为回忆，文化与教育的精神，正跨越山海，延展向前——

回归瑞士莱茵河谷的莱茵谷居（Rheintal Cottage），

在那里，东西的智慧将再次相遇，静水流深。
