Amsterdam, Netherlands, July 19, 2024 — The UNESCO World Heritage Museum, Embassy of the Free Mind, hosted its annual summer VIP event. IAK Cultural Association President Jian Geyang was invited to this significant occasion and personally donated a precious cultural artifact from China: a Zhongni (Confucius)-style Guqin, along with her bilingual book, "A Dialogue with Ancestors," to the museum for its permanent collection. This marks the first time a Chinese Guqin has been formally exhibited in a foreign museum, representing a new milestone in Sino-Dutch cultural exchange.

Ms. Jian elaborated on the profound significance of the traditional Chinese four arts—Music/Guqin, Weichi/Go, Calligraphy, and Painting—and explained that her book delves into the history and philosophy of Chinese culture. The goal is to guide us to a healthier, happier life through ancestral wisdom and to foster greater understanding between Eastern and Western cultures.
简歌扬女士阐述了中国传统四艺（琴、棋、书、画）的深远意义，并解释了她的书籍深入探讨了中国文化的历史和哲学。她的目标是通过祖先的智慧指导我们更健康、更幸福的生活，促进东西方文化的理解和交流。
The Embassy of the Free Mind, renowned for its collection of over 2,000 years of precious books, further solidified its role in promoting cultural exchanges between East and West through this event. The museum director expressed great joy at the arrival of the Guqin, describing it as "another vital bridge for cultural exchange between East and West."
自由思想使馆以其收藏超过2000年的珍贵书籍闻名，此次活动进一步巩固了其在促进东西方文化交流中的作用。博物馆馆长对古琴的到来表示非常高兴，称其为“东西方文化交流的又一重要桥梁”。
During the event, Ms. Jian quoted, "In the East, there are saints; in the West, there are saints. Our hearts are connected, and our principles are the same," highlighting the importance of cultural sharing. The donation of the Guqin and book is a highlight of Sino-Dutch cultural exchange and a significant practice of international cultural cooperation. By observing historical changes and constants and discussing the essence of both Eastern and Western cultures, this event deepened global understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.
